Our Services

  • A speech sound disorder is an umbrella term that indicates difficulty producing speech sounds correctly for your child’s age. If your child experiences difficulty with any of the following, contact us to determine if a speech evaluation is warranted:

    • difficulty producing sounds such as “wed” for red or “tup” for cup

    • difficulty being understood by communication partners

We evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of speech sound disorders including: articulation disorders, phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, and dysarthria. We combine multiple evidence based trainings, approaches, and techniques to ensure optimal progress as there is no “one size fits all approach.”

  • A language disorder is an umbrella term that refers to difficulty with learning, comprehending, and using language. If your child experiences difficulty with any of the following, contact us to determine if a language evaluation is warranted:

    • comprehension of vocabulary, questions, directions, or stories

    • talking/sharing ideas

    • producing complex sentences or ideas

    • vocabulary development

    • reading

    • writing

We evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of language disorders including expressive and receptive language disorders.

  • We provide intervention and support for students with language-based learning struggles like dyslexia.

We are trained in Orton-Gillingham. Orton-Gillingham is a highly structured, systematic, multi-sensory approach that breaks reading and spelling down into smaller skills involving letters and sounds, and builds on these skills over time.

  • Executive functioning is an umbrella term that refers to a group of interrelated cognitive processes, including but not limited to controlling initiation and inhibition; sustaining and shifting attention; organization; goal setting, and completion; and determining plans for the future. These skills allow us to plan and execute tasks as well as to interact and communicate successfully with others.

If your child experiences difficulty with any of the following, contact us to determine if a language evaluation is warranted:

    • difficulty organizing thoughts to express themselves

    • difficulty with home and school routines, including completing steps

    • difficulty developing social skills

    • difficulty with reasoning and problem solving skills

    • difficulty with memory

  • A fluency disorder is an interruption in the flow of speaking. This may be atypical rate, rhythm, disfluencies, and stuttered forms.

If your child experiences difficulty with any of the following, contact us to determine if a stuttering evaluation is warranted:

    • repeating sounds, syllables, words, and/or phrases; sound prolongations; and blocks

    • excessive tension when speaking

    • speaking avoidance

    • struggle behaviors when speaking

    • secondary mannerisms when speaking (e.g., facial grimacing, excessive eye blinking)

People who stutter also frequently experience psychological, emotional, social, and functional impacts as a result of their communication difference. We recognize how difficult this can be and treat the child as a whole to support their communication needs.

We evaluate, diagnose, and treat disfluency disorders including stuttering, cluttering, and atypical disfluency.
